PHOTOGRAPHER: Annette Baca L’Archevêque

Born Annette Baca (father from New Mexico) Annette was blessed with opportunities to learn ways and culture of the southwest. Many times caught doing jaw dropping unbelievable things, to her siblings, Annette was known for her curiosity of contemplating how the world worked and also for getting candy stuck in her hair. Her friends think she's funny with disarming and keen sense of humor, much like her talent for photography. These days her family and colleagues refer to her as "creative".

“I love your hair, who did your hair today”…

When Annette woke up, her hair looked like a tumbleweed covered with Christmas lights. The candy she had woven into her hair, half-eaten, appeared to have blown in the previous evening. However, things did not slow down in this place; among the shenanigans that occupied the day were cartoon viewing and making up reasons why she shouldn't go to school.

A photographer isis born

While playing in the neighborhood, Annette quickly became a friend to the friendless. Constantly taking in abandoned animals and pets was a skill she practiced and honed. Her pet name was literally "Pet" - "Annette the Pet"... Wanting to hold on the things dearest to her was becoming apparent. It was difficult to hide stray cats, rabbits, and squirrels, especially when they sprang out from under the bed. She would walk around acting like a photographer with a tiny pretend camera until the day she got her first real camera, a Kodak 110.

She states, "It's been years" since she saw a disposable camera or the 110. She now travels the world with her Canon EOS C300, among other brands and sizes, and hair that is controlled and managed. Annette has a reputation for getting some of the best pictures while flashing the red carpet. Her portfolio of pictures featuring "A listers" is extensive and seems to go on forever.
